Simply checking bed bug monitors for activity is not enough. Nearby surroundings often reveal earlier signs of bed bug infestations, such as fecal staining, cast skins or tiny instars. Monitors are designed to capture foraging insects, and serve to remind other technicians where the most likely harborage locations are. They can be great proactive tools when used with a protocol that requires focused scrutiny — and can go a long way in helping to identify early bed bug infestations.
