National Mosquito Control Awareness Week 2018 will take place June 24 to June 30, according to the American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA). The event aims to educate the public about health risks associated with mosquitoes as they become active during summer months. The AMCA recommends following the 3D’s for mosquito protection:
- Drain: Empty out water containers at least once a week.
- Dress: Wear long sleeves and pants, as well as light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
- Defend: Properly apply an approved repellent.
