Spiders are useful members of our ecosystem, but like other arthropods such as scorpions, centipedes, millipedes and mites, they can be a problem if they enter houses or workplaces in any number. If it’s a heavy infestation, you may have to use an effective insecticide, but you can also help you customers by advising them to do following:

  • Seal exterior cracks and/or crevices. Damaged window screens, cracks in the siding, and poorly sealed windows are perfect access sites for spiders. Seal them, and inspect them regularly.
  • Keep things clean. Spiders love secluded, cluttered areas. Keep garages, attics and basements neat
    and tidy.
  • Be careful with what you bring in from outside. Spiders can hop a ride on delivery boxes, grocery bags and garden tools. Just about any item could have an unwelcome “hitchhiker” aboard.
