Once you’ve eliminated a spider infestation, recommend the following to your customers to discourage a reinfestation:

  • Clean on a regular schedule. Vacuum floors and walls, and wipe counters, tables and desks.
  • Move garbage bins away from the structure. Trash attracts flies, which in turn attracts spiders. By keeping trash farther from the home or building, flies are less likely to come around.
  • Keep the lights off. Spiders like the dark, but they also are attracted to light from the porch, attic, basement, etc., because it attracts their insect prey. No light equals
    no spiders.
  • Put foodstuff away. Again, food attracts flies and other insects, which, in turn, attract spiders. Put the food away and prevent all pests from coming around.
