Because fleas and ticks usually enter from outside, start there with your spraying. Work your way toward the house, paying special attention to playing areas for pets.

Remember that ticks often are found in overgrown, wooded areas, and tall grasses. Fleas love shady, dank areas, such as under trees and shrubs. Be sure to treat lawns, bushes, shrubs, trees, fences and sheds.

Indoors, make sure everyone is out of the home or office before you begin treatment. That includes pets, too. Treat all the floors, carpets, rugs, pillows, furniture, windowsills and curtains, as well as baseboards, bookshelves and any other places the fleas and ticks like to hide.
