Bed bugs have become a top pest in the past 13 years. Bed bugs are small insects, where the adults are about the size of an apple seed.

All stages of bed bugs except for the eggs feed on blood. They are a “cryptic pest,” meaning they like to hide in small crevices and usually are nocturnal.

The main steps when attacking a bed bug infestation are:

  1. Conduct a thorough inspection.
  2. Vacuum to remove live and dead bed bugs after appropriate treatments.
  3. Finally, consider a steam treatment, which is a chemical-free solution against bed bugs. Steam can reach the cracks and crevices where bed bugs often like to hide. After treatment, rooms can be occupied immediately. Steam is popular with both customers and pest control companies, as treatment often can be performed in one session and no chemicals are left behind.
