Agreement renewals are critical to a pest management professional’s (PMP’s) termite business. An annual termite inspection (ATI) report can influence a customer’s decision to continue a termite protection contract. During an ATI, inspect the structure and landscape as thoroughly as you would the account’s initial inspection.

ATI reports should go beyond noting termite activity in stations or structures. You also should document structural and landscape conditions that appear conducive to termites. Include images to clarify issues described in the ATI report. Document everything: If it isn’t documented, it didn’t happen.

When the ATI report is complete, always ask yourself, “Would I continue to pay for this service?” Giving your customers more value in the ATI report will help lead to better retention rates.
