Most PMPs will agree that flying insect treatments consist of identifying pest and harborage areas, treating those accordingly, and educating the customer on cleaning. Continued success, however, comes from creating programs for each individual customer.

For example, how many times have you used a biological product in a drain to help eliminate organic debris — only to have the customer use bleach to clean the floor and destroy all your efforts? Your best weapon in preventing such occurrences is education. Help the customer understand how your products work; it’s as important as educating them on cleaning. Better yet, generate additional revenue through providing select cleaning products for your customers to purchase that complement your treatment program. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
