Tech Test Tidbit: Feeding time

Ticks may take 10 minutes to two hours to prepare to feed on an animal or person, depending on the species and its stage of life. When a tick finds a feeding spot, it grasps the skin and cuts into the surface. Ticks can secrete small amounts of saliva that has anesthetic properties, and as a result, the animal or person is unable to feel that the tick attached itself.
