Yep, everything really is bigger in Texas. For proof, check out the communal web spiders have spun in the trees at Lakeside Park in the town of Rowlett. It’s a site to behold, as it encompasses numerous trees, is several feet long and about 40 ft. high, Field & Stream‘s Field Notes blog reports. The spiders responsible seem to have found the perfect spot, as the gigantic web is situated near the lake. With the perfect prey close by, plenty of mosquitoes and midges have been caught in the spiders’ trap. So far, there’s no word on the type of spider that created the web, so tell us what you think. Eight years ago, another communal web appeared in Texas, according to Field & Stream. This one was located in Lake Tawakoni Start Park, which is about 35 miles east of Rowlett. Guatemalan long-jawed spiders were responsible then; perhaps they’ve been busy again. A video of the state’s newest communal web appeared on local news channel WFAA, and shows just a few of the thousands of spiders that call it home.

Dose any one happen to know if the spiders are the same species or are they different species that combined their efforts to make the giant web?
