When I first started offering bird control services, I was very detailed in my quote proposals. I wanted to give customers a clear plan for the different services I was offering.

I soon learned that giving too much information occasionally results in some customers using your proposal as a template for soliciting other bidders. Providing too much detail also can offer the do-it-yourself (DIY) customer a road map on how to handle their own problems.

Many bird control projects require a multi-faceted approach. Providing customers with general information, like “install netting, use of visual deterrents and scare tactics,” along with a timeframe should be enough for them to understand the plan without giving away all the details.
