“No tape, no talc and no breakage” is how Protect-A-Bed describes new BlackOut. The device can be placed under the legs of beds and upholstered furniture to detect the presence of bed bugs in a structure. Developed by BedBug Central’s technical director, Jeffrey White, its textured exterior surface is made from strong yet recyclable plastic. Research has found that the color is attractive to bed bugs, allows easier identification of early instars, and is aesthetically pleasing. And unlike competing products, BlackOut does not use tape or powder.
