Trappers know soil containing the odors of woodchucks is attractive to other woodchucks. Collect soil from the porch of a woodchuck den or beneath the trap, and place it in a resealable plastic bag. At the next woodchuck job, spread the soil on the trap floor up to the treadle. Wear gloves, and avoid breathing dust. Freeze the bags until they’re needed.
