A rodent’s food choice can be directly influenced by availability, taste, texture and scents of other nearby food sources, which means rodenticides need to be able to mimic lots of different food types. Soft baits, for example, typically include a high oil content that provides different tastes, textures and scents from the grain-based makeup of most block baits. Because they can be resistant to melting, developing mold, and freezing, they can be used in a variety of situations.
